Scot Thomas didn't want to recruit this way.....


but he's been forced into doing it since so many other D-1 programs started this practice of early recruiting before Tech did. Scot told me that he was very surprised to see 8th and 9th graders committing so early. He told me that he wasn't comfortable offering a scholarship until after their sophomore seasons. That is one of the reasons we have lacked the talent we once had. Scot decided that if Tech softball was to be successful, that he and his staff would have to do the same. Scot's last 3 recruiting classes have improved.
